Project & Mission Statement: Fire Station #18 Activation

"Our mission is to establish Fire Station #18 (145 Sussex St., Clyde, CA) as a permanent, accessible community hub dedicated to the health, economic resilience, and creative development of fixed-income seniors, children from low-income families, and vulnerable residents in Clyde and neighboring Central/East Contra Costa communities.

By reactivating this decommissioned municipal facility into a cultural and wellness center, we directly address social isolation, economic inequality, and youth opportunity gaps through:

• Supplemental Income for Seniors: Providing fixed-income older adults with free skill-building workshops, micro-enterprise training, and access to an annual festival marketplace to generate vital supplemental income from their creative work.
• Free Youth Arts & Enrichment: Delivering 100% free, barrier-free after-school art programs and intergenerational mentorship for children of low-income families who lack access to extra-curricular arts education.
• Community Wellness: Offering a safe, cost-free gathering place to foster mental wellness and combat isolation across generations.

Securing Fire Station #18 will enable our non-profit to provide these essential, no-cost services and economic opportunity tools to low-income children, struggling families, and seniors across our region."
